Will whitening change my crowns or fillings?
Whitening works on natural teeth and does not lighten existing restorations in the same way. Dr. Shreya will consider colour matching when discussing your plan.
Can everyone have whitening?
Healthy teeth and gums and an individual assessment are important. Tell Dr. Shreya about pregnancy, breastfeeding, sensitivity and any existing restorations.
Do veneers always mean removing enamel?
Some veneer plans involve preparation of the tooth surface; the extent depends on the design and case. Ask how much preparation is proposed and whether an alternative would conserve more tooth structure.
Are whitening results permanent?
Whitening results can be maintained with good oral care and attention to staining habits. The colour can change over time; Dr. Shreya will explain maintenance and whether a future top-up is appropriate for you.
What risks should I understand?
Whitening can cause sensitivity or gum irritation. Veneers may involve irreversible tooth preparation and can chip, loosen or require replacement. Dr. Shreya will explain the risks, alternatives and care appropriate to the proposed treatment. No particular shade or permanent colour change can be guaranteed.
