Prevention and development

Care that grows with your child.

Build everyday habits

A check-up is a chance to discuss brushing, diet and a routine you can support at home.

Assess developing teeth

An examination looks for decay and other concerns as baby and permanent teeth change.

Understand the bite

Early orthodontic assessment helps determine whether to monitor development or consider treatment.

What brings you here?

Questions parents often bring.

A routine check-up

Arrange a visit even when there is no pain. The next review interval is based on individual needs.

Cavities or tooth discomfort

Tell us about symptoms, sensitivity or damage when you book so we can discuss the right next step.

Crowding or bite changes

Bring concerns about tooth position, the way teeth meet or habits affecting the mouth.

The first conversation

A plan for prevention and care.

Dr. Akash Patodiya, pediatric dentist and visiting consultant, provides children’s dental care. Tell us about your child’s health, previous dental experiences and anything that makes appointments difficult.

The examination helps plan care and prevention. Fluoride treatment or protective fissure sealants may be considered according to decay risk and the teeth involved. The team will explain the purpose and care needs of any recommendation.

Orthodontic development

An orthodontic check by age seven.

An orthodontic check is recommended by age seven, or earlier if you notice a concern. Dr. Shreya can assess tooth eruption, crowding and the developing bite while some baby teeth are still present.

An early check does not mean every child needs braces. Monitoring growth and choosing the appropriate time for any treatment can be the main outcome of the visit.

Your questions

Before your child’s visit.

Does my child need to wait until age seven to see a dentist?

No. Age seven refers to an orthodontic check, not the start of general dental care. Arrange dental care earlier and contact the clinic about any concern.

Will an early orthodontic check mean braces?

The check may lead to monitoring rather than treatment. Dr. Shreya will explain your child’s development and whether any intervention is appropriate.

What if my child is nervous?

Tell us before the appointment. Share previous experiences and what helps your child feel comfortable so the visit can be planned with those needs in mind.

Are fluoride and sealants right for every child?

They are preventive options considered according to age, decay risk and tooth condition. The dentist will explain whether either is recommended and how to care for the teeth afterwards.

What should parents know before treatment?

Benefits, alternatives and risks depend on the proposed procedure. Ask for an explanation of discomfort, aftercare and review needs. Prevention reduces risk but does not guarantee that decay or other problems will never occur.
